Get a look at these new images just in from Rome of the still-under-construction Elizabeth Unique Hotel, set to open January 2018 in a restored 17th-century palazzo in the heart of the historic center, just a few minutes from the famous Spanish steps. Situated in the picturesque and pedestrianized Via del Corso area, the Elizabeth Unique Hotel will comprise more than 1600 square meters of luxuriously appointed interiors, featuring couture fabrics, white modular doors, reproduced antique wallpaper prints, and boiserie-style frames. From the private entrance on Via delle Colonnette, a majestic double-height entrance will lead via stairway or elevator to a refined lobby and reading room replete with an open fireplace.
The building’s meticulous restoration is the work of the celebrated Rome-based Marincola studio. Most room categories will feature arched walls, created in lacquered wooden boiseries—a modern reference to the full arch concept of Roman building traditions—as well as antique prints of the Roman countryside in an evocation of the artistic “grand tours” of eras past. Carefully curated artwork will transform the hallways and guestrooms into private exhibition spaces.
As for food and drink offerings, the Bar Bacharach Bistrot will emphasize prime local produce with an excellent a la carte breakfast service, while the bar will feature classic cocktails and an impressive wine list. In the warmer months, the bar’s stone-and-wood terrace overlooking the Via Frezza will transform into a vibrant urban garden, where live music will mingle with the scent of fresh jasmine in the Roman evening air.
