The handpicked global Design Hotels collection spans more than 60 countries on four continents, but not a single member hotel in the Baltic States. But that’s about to change.
In spring of 2018, Hotel Pacai is set to open in the lovely Lithuanian capital of Vilnius in a 17th-century mansion that’s being transformed by a team of passionate local architects and designers into a bold, design-driven property for the 21st century. Located in the center of Vilnius’ picturesque Old Town, the building dates back to 1677 and is said to have been the most magnificent mansion in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
Hotel Pacai’s 104 rooms and suites combine smart design features with unique touches celebrating Baltic and Lithuanian culture. The hotel will feature two restaurants in collaboration with Nordic Food Republic, a Lithuanian restaurant group that counts internationally renowned restaurateur Claus Meyer among its partners, and a bar and lounge, as well as four meeting rooms and a charming courtyard exclusive to hotel guests. There will also be a spa replete with treatment rooms, a sauna, and a fitness center. It’s a perfect new home base for fans of under-the-radar gem Vilnius, and a great excuse for the uninitiated to visit one of Europe’s emerging travel destinations.
