As part of NYCxDESIGN, Design Hotels and award-winning designer Michele Varian will be co-hosting an evening on May 21, 2019 in SoHo to explore the changing landscape of retail spaces with select creatives from the industry. The panel will also include designer Marie Burgos, the founder of the designers’ co-op Colony, Jean Lin, and the Design Hotels Vice President of the Americas, Markus Schreyer.
Varian, Burgos, and Lin are an integral part of New York’s thriving community of independent designers and have, as such, a unique insider take on both the innovation and traditionalism of showrooms and retailing; how brick and mortar spaces engage with (and fuse) consumers and community; the role of digital spaces in creating compelling offline experiences, and more. Schreyer will be touching upon the role of hotels as novel retail channels as they increasingly try to engage their guests through transformative cultural programming. So, are we living in the age of the retail apocalypse?
To find out, be a part of the Design Talk Roundtable on Tuesday, May 21 from 6PM to 08.30PM at the Michele Varian shop at 27 Howard St, NYC.
