In the simplicity of Interior Design Laboratorium’s projects, one can always sense a quiet luxury emanating from the flawless functional design and the excellent quality of materials. The Athens-based studio was founded by Stamos Hondrodimos in 2009 and has since been giving a voice to modern Greek interiors rooted in sun-soaked isles.

  1. Q: Who or what are your biggest influences?
    Nature and its creations.

Q: Have you ever changed your mind about anything aesthetics-wise?
For me there are no rules regarding aesthetics. I always trust my instincts because there is truth in it.

Q: Describe your dream project, real or fantasy.
I would love to redesign abandoned traditional villages in their entirety.

Q: What’s the last thing you read that made you feel something?
The history of Delos—an island of incredible inheritance.

Q: What are you currently working on?
We’re currently working on various hotels on a few Greek islands and some select residential projects. One of the biggest is an extension of a prominent hotel on an iconic Cycladic island.

Q: Is there a building or product that strikes you as particularly well-designed or innovative?
While traveling, one thing that always inspires me, is the design and architecture of monasteries.
